Hi Folks. I was wondering if anybody could recommend a good marine mechanic in the area. I have a 2008 Merc 75 hp 2 stroke and it doesn't want to open up to full throttle. It will rev to 3000 rpm and that's it . I changed the plugs but it didn't seem to help. I live in the Kawartha lakes area so hoping for somebody close by. Thank you in advance .

Sound to me like your having a fuel issue, may need to get the carbs clean out and redone. Try calling Birch Point Marina Ltd they are very good. My friend used them a few times.

check your prop for damage also are you trimmed properly i would also check the hull for things creating drag next the fuel filter and as mentioned before new 90+oct fuel with no ethanol when you changed your plugs what did they look like was one dry the other wet ? could be a bad ht lead or coil perhaps

I highly recommend Mechanics on Trent. They both formally worked at Birch Point. Their prices are better and Rob's a great guy. He will literally come to your boat if needed. Last year I needed a prop and he came over and installed it in 5 minutes. I have used both Birch Point and Mechanics on the Trent for storage and I now use Mechanics on the Trent permanently.

Hi Guys. Thanks again for the help. I took the boat in and it turned out to be a faulty coil. It's all fixed and good to go. Thanks again.
