Well, we decided to go for green bass to start the season. Got a late start as the radar showed a lot of rain coming, and with an 8 year old in tow, I’d rather not fish in that and spoil the experience for him. Sky’s cleared around 9:00 so off we went. Stayed out for about 4 hours, caught at least 25 bass and lost another dozen or so. No big ones but a ton of action, almost all on topwater frogs too so that kept things exciting. A nice way to start the year off with my main fishing partner.

This made me laugh, guess the beavers are aggressive towards canoeists in this bay

The birds’ are nice units. I have a 9” si on the bow and a 10” mega si at the console, and they sure do show a lot of stuff that you’d never see with just polarized glasses, even in shallow water. The lake we were on today was fairly tea stained and I could see trees and stumps way off to the sides of the boat while casting.
