Seems I only post stuff when I catch something nice. No one sees the times when nothing makes it to the net because, well, nothing was hooked. Thought I'd show the reality of it all...trial and error, exploring new lakes, and getting skunked sometimes! These times turn into the reconnoissance missions used to plan the next outing. And I will be back to this place...I must have missed 10 little bites/swipes at my lure. Set the hook, nothing...another tap, tap...set, nothing....Frigg! Definitely a bunch of fish in that lake. Even saw/heard a few splashing on the surface eating some bugs. Anyway, still was a great, calm evening, thought I'd share a few pics.

Nothing beats a brookie day like you had !!! I am finding the bite is very light now also i find slowing tge trolling speed down to 1.4 helps but like you say the taps are there and the hook set is harder.

I can relate but the best thing about Brookies is where they live anyway. I tried a couple new lakes for bass this week. One was awesome and one wasn't. One was a small lake in your area that gets stocked with rainbows I figured if there were any largemouth they might get big but alas only smallies.

OK, Drew, don't be coming on here looking for sympathy after all the mouth watering speck pix you've posted! So you get stuck in a boring place with nothing to listen to but frogs---no rock music from 3 doors down---and nothing to see but the same old boring trees,. Y'know the kind with all the same old green leaves.
