Today marks the beginning of registration for the 2nd annual Ice Fishing for the Cure derby in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. The derby will take place on Lake Nipissing on February 18th, and will run from 8am-12pm. The derbies measuring station is being set up at the lakeside Gazebo adjacent to The Boat on Memorial Drive. This derby has a cash grand prize of half of net proceeds awarded to the longest fish of any species caught during the derby, as well as secondary prizes given to the longest Perch (in sequential order) caught. The entry fee for the derby will be 35$ for adults and 10$ for children (12 and under).

Looking forward to seeing everyone out on the 18th

Went to this event last year, had a great time, lots of fun for all. Especially like that proceeds go towards a good organization. The wide range of prizes was an added plus! Will definitely compete again and hopefully win something!

Interested, but going through the on-line registration website (before I register), I could not find where exactly on Lake Nipissing this event will be held. I mean Lake Nipissing is HUGE, I couldn't even find the info say the event will be held on northeast or southwest, or off whatever Bay of the Lake?:-)

No problem Fishchaser67

Also we will be dropping off registration forms to Tomas at North Bay Outfitters (130 Lakeshore Dr) within the next few weeks for those looking to register with cash before the event.

Tight lines,

The Ice Fishing for the Cure Team

Good afternoon everyone!

We would like to remind everybody that regrestration can be made online at www.icefishingforthecure.ca/derby-fees/. Registering online allows you to simply hand in your waver form on the day of the event and skip the registration line.

We're almost one month away from the derby, and we couldn't be more excited to see everyone out on the ice!

Tight lines,

The Ice Fishing for the Cure Team Ice Fishing for the Cure
