We got to the launch ramp about 5:45AM and started prepping the boat. Our member, "finsfurfeathers"-Dave, strolls over and introduces himself. We chat for 5 or 10 minutes as we get the boat ready. His, which it turns out is the same as mine, was already launched and tied to the dock.

By 6:15 we were out there and the first rod down. Headed straight out to 70fow and the rod went down. Kept going out to about 130kfow and then headed west, moving in and out. Nothing, not even marking anything. By 8:30 we are down by the filtration plant and we see FFF and check with him. He just had a knock off on meat and that's it. He too, is marking very little. I then get and release a shaker Chinook. We keep moving out and then mark a couple of fish down 70ft in 150fow. When we hit 200fow, decide to keep heading out and visit the "Blue Zone". About this time "Dinky" phoned and I told him our sad tale and he was the one who suggested to fish high up.

As we headed out beyond 200fow, we still were not marking anything, but we started to get action on the dipseys which we down about 35ft.

Over the next 5 hours we stayed out in over 250fow and were getting the odd hit, but only on the presentations down 35-50ft. We were now running the downriggers at those depths as well as the dipseys. We picked up a nice little Coho in the 3-4lb range and 3 rainbow, 5, 9 and 10 lbs. We also had some shakers and some" quick releases". We pulled rods at 1:15 and by that time we had gone 7 for 10. Not bad after the really slow start.

It was mostly a spoon bite, but my buddy Phil used a teaser head with some of my Smelts to get the smaller rainbow as well as a shaker Chinook.

Fleas were a pain, even on Flea Flicker line and 30lb test.

Attached pic shows the fish in my garage.

The Bradley will be busy either tomorrow or Saturday.

Sure beats my luck on Simcoe this year.

Hope to get down again later this month

When I get up at 3AM and drive to Toronto, yes, I do make a day of it since I have invested that time and energy.

Driving home was a "pain", with the 401 a mess and numerous slow downs on the 400. While I like to go and fish Lake O, the main drawback is the traffic as far as I'm concerned.
