I started fishing with my dad when i was 8 or 9, been catching perch bluegill and rock bass by the hundreds every summer. As well with my kids when they were small. I got them into pan fishing at first but quickly graduated them to the bigger fish. I can catch perch anytime in the summer in many places. Ive always enjoyed the pumping and line burning of bigger fish such as lakers and whitefish in simcoe. Catching 20 dink perch in a day doesnt make me want to go back for more but getting into 3 or 4 chunky lakers or whiteys definitely does. Yes the jumbos are nice when you get onto them and taste great but still prefer the sensation of the fight with the bigger fish. Its a great feeling when you're in 100ft of water and you set that hook and feel that good weight down there pumping away.

I'm mostly Perch as I stick to the Outfitters for Hard Water, and open water I mostly hit the Pike and Picks. Don't get me wrong I'd love to Hit Whites But
1. No Idea how to Fish for them, what to use blah blah
2. Always have my two Kids so Perch Keeps them Busy

I think I need to Hire Up a Simcoe Vet to get me going. Any Takers lol. Trip is on me.

Love my perch fishing, chase Lakers all summer at cottage as I have my whole life. Jumbo perch are still kinda new to me and sight fishing for them is still a blast. Next year is the year for a decent sonar or graph then I'll spend some more time on Lakers and Whities. And then there's Steelhead....oh yeah
