With the boat in the repair shop I am stuck on shore unless there is no waves whatsoever and I might just risk putting out my 10ft tin canoe. Client of mine offered me a free 12ft aluminium which is much wider but when I picked it up it was in bad shape. All morning long I power washed and tightened screws and got her rigged up with an outboard and was just about to give her a test drive when the phone rang. Buddy of mine who lives down the street said he is going out and asked me if I wanted to come along. No brainer there lol! The test run will have to wait. Launched just after 1 and within the first hour saw 1 mark which grabbed my vibrato. Then I lost one more and my buddy landed 1. Some time goes by and I set the hook hard only to snap my reel seat in half. DRAT! I liked that reel!! 15 minutes later my buddy hooks up and his Fenwick snapped after about 30 seconds of battle and fish came off. Ended up losing a few meegz after that on some fish which sucked but also landed a few. All in all we went 8/15 and had a fantastic time out there. Thank God no smallies were caught today.
