Managed to get out for a few hours this mornin before the heat kicked my a##. Was a little slower than usual but we still managed 3 worth talking about includin this bad boy which I assume is my personal best. Was 20.5 inches. Fish were buried under the thick stuff in 5 to 6 ft.

Very nice largie, congratulations! Those big bad boys are not easy to get in that kind of heat.

Nice fish! They seem to be bit more aggressive this year once you locate them.

Thanks. Key to Scugog for me is that you have to get dirty in those less pressured areas. Dunkin craws and drop shots seems to get more of the big boys.

I totally agree. I have been stopped by Ministry and OPP on many occasions and they ask to see my catch (not a problem). They are quite surprised at the size of the perch I catch there and ask where I got them. I just reply Scugog and won't tell them the area. The respond that they are much bigger than the norm for the lake. As I am on the water when they ask, they understand I don't want to give my secret spots. I like to find those spots and that don't get a lot of traffic, but the big fish seem to like. If there's a lot of boats there, its not the right spot. Drop shots work wonders on that lake.

If I get my trailer lights repaired soon enough, I'll be launching at Caesarea this weekend. Hopefully I'll pick it up by Friday evening. It's been painful having a 5 day weekend and the boat's in dry dock!!
