Well..... tried to fish balsam on Friday but the wind was too high and boat control was tough, manage a couple for a couple hours in the morning. Got back for another round this morning and boated 3 bass, beautiful day to be on the water.

Nice fish Paul! I was on Balsam from about 8 am to about 4pm (stopped for a couple of hours for lunch with the kids). Fished mostly the North end, then headed south to see if our luck would improve. Caught some small perch, saw a few bruisers (a few large bass swimming around our boat) and one muskie just looking around. No takers, though. Eventually landed a 20" walleye (back in he went). Very aggressive and full of life. Good to see they survived the heat.

We lost a large bass as we were netting (her first time fishing in a few years and she didn't think it was a fish until I saw it).

We netted a 5 lb largie at the north end just as we were leaving. The wind picked up something fierce so time to leave. One fish for dinner. Overall, a pretty good day!
