I do quite a bit of mushroom foraging but don't know that one at all. When in doubt leave them alone. Only mushroom I pick that grows on stumps and trees is honey fungi.

Thanks VBB. It's a good looking specimen. Wish there was a way to determine if they are edible.

I love mushrooms but never felt comfortable harvesting wild mushrooms for consumption. Strangely enough, I will eat wild mushrooms harvested by others.

I really enjoy collecting wild mushrooms and have found it to be a very poor year in my area.

Not sure what those mushroom are either. It is not a Oyster Mushroom for sure, I not would eat it.

As said above, if in doubt dont eat it.

Cheers,

I have found it to poor in my area as well . I managed to find only one spot this fall with shaggy mane mushrooms. They are usually more abundant.

This mushroom is (almost 100%) - Pluteus umbrosus - or other species from Pluteus family.
It's edible but not too tasty.
Not recommended for consumption.

My mushrooms all come from the store. I would not trust anything I read, online or elsewhere, to decide which are edible. I would need someone with me to show me 'in the flesh'.

Sadly Knuguy - the vast majority of your fish also come from a store....
