Had hoped to go to Bluffers today, but kept looking at the wind forecast on various sites and sustained East winds on Lake O were forecast anywhere from 11kph and up with gusts over 20kph. While my boat handles that OK,it just isn't fun bouncing around in the waves. I have been there in the past when it has been an East wind.

My friend Phil and I elected to go to Simcoe instead.

We went 0 for 1. Once again, marked lots of fish and we trolled all the way from Oro 9 to deep into Kempenfelt Bay. Tried lots of different spoons and body baits, but no takers.

Last time I was out and I was alone, I was using a "gang troll" on the second rigger as an "attractor" while I fished off the other ball.

"Longshank" added to the thread then of running the gang troll on my line with a "Wobble Troll or peanut". I did that today and that was when I hooked and quickly lost a fish. The only hit of the day.

We contemplated jigging at times, but we liked the breeze we got while trolling. It was real hot out there.

When we came in, we were talking to others who had anchored and jigged and had enjoyed considerable success. Oh well!

Hopefully, next week--BLUFFERS!!.

Thanks for the report. Still better than my day..

Interesting the gang troll and peanut triggered a strike.

Tough fishing so far for you Ralph, hope things turn around for you when you hit Lake O. Either way still a lot better than being stuck behind the desk.

Tight lines buddy
