Small jig with a stinger hook worked best! 90% were hooked on the stinger!

Sounds like a good day. Getting any perch in the mix at all?

Just got in from the lake, wind was blowing snow in the holes and missed a ton of fish. In the end we landed about 10 eyes over 17" and maybe one that was scratching the 18" mark. We got about 4 pike and missed something that snapped a hook in half. Back out Saturday, need to patch the stove pipe as that rusted out over the summer.

I should have mentioned that we did actually spend time measuring fish as they were larger then last year. I figure that there will be a much greater chance at catching the over 18.1" slot this year. Anything over 17" was a great looking and fat fish....good luck everyone

QUOTE (Chevy @ Jan 02, 2018 - 06:43 pm)
Oh man that pike musta peeled some line off. Does your wife give lessons?

Was quite a battle on light tackle but she persevered. She seems to be schooling me almost every time we go out. Must have the magic touch.

My friend and I made it out twice so far in Callander Bay and no fish yet. One guy caught about 14 perch and walley but no keepers.

Time to try another lake.

Hey Sterr! Question on your rig up...did you use a minnow as well or without a minnow? If with minnow, did you hook the minnow with the treble?

Thanks!
