Hi, I just rented a weekend getaway ice fishing on Boshkung lake. I just checked the regs now (Rats) and its limit to 1 line per angler through the ice. Not the end of the world - hoping if anyone can let me know on their experience on the lake and how the fishing was... What did you use? jig and minnow?
Any help is appreciate - Thanks in advance
Scott

They all work up there , lots of Lakers . Spoons , tubes , and when it gets tough small minnow and a split shot . Donít be surprised if you get into some big walleye up there too , cheers

I'm on a lake in that chain. Smallish walleyes 2lbs. Are common as for lakers you'd be lucky to see one at 15 " any more. The eyes seem to prefer smaller tipped spoons out that way. Good luck maybe I'll see u out there.

Was there two winters ago near the North end. . Marked a lot but very few takers. Got 1 small laker and a nice whitefish. Only after icing the whitie I figuees why they would not go for my offering of lures and minnoe. The whitefish throw up a massive bulb of tiny wormy insects (looked like 1 inch small worms/grubs). So they were feeding heavily off those in weeds. Minnow was their secondary choice

They did look like tubifex worms (which I did not know the name of but just googled).

I've been on Boshkung Lake for 50 years, nothing like it used to be but a few new species showing up over the last 10 years. I prefer to go further north ...

Where it there a good access point for walkers on Boshkung? I have fished there in the summer and couple of lakes around there but I have never Fished Boshkung in the winter.

Parking is an issue there as well, there is paid parking from a local there and can walk out.

Jigs, spoons, tubes and minnows. Typical laker fishing.
