QUOTE (Jacobbassman87 @ Dec 15, 2017 - 06:29 pm)
I was also close to a bay. Did not venture out to the channel.

My friend, I think still too early, be careful if you want to venture further. Must sure you have all your safety equipment.

I went out to the east side of the island around nine this morning used the spud about ten feet off shore broke through after four or five wacks drilled five holes first two about two inches of ice forth one almost four inches and last hole inch and a half I was about a hundred and fifty yards from shore. Turned back and went home hopefully next weekend.

The ice is about 4" out at the boat launch in Port Perry. I saw about a dozen holes. The one person fishing said the crappy were active yesterday but only perch today. I wouldn't go too far though. Maybe stay in the bay. I'm going tomorrow.

I have a question that might be dumb, but how many fishing lines can you have out at once? Like how many rods and how many tips up per person? I never used tip ups, but might buy some this year.
