thanks antique, unfortunately I usually just use this formula to calculate wind on nip.

not currently windy = wait an hour

a little bit windy currently = probably going to get windier

very windy currently = remove everything light from waters edge and nail anything down you don't want to replace

when will the wind stop = when you least expect it, same as when will it start

what to do when its too windy to control boat = drink beer

Download the app.... wind alert: live wind reports and forecasts. Their is numerous weather beacons across the lake that give you up to the minute data as to what's going on out there and what's coming!! I use it all the time. At the moment I just checked and the coast guard hasn't put them back out on the water yet through wind alert but I seen them at the waterfront loading them up last Friday! Should only be a matter of time tli there up and running again!!

I'm thinking of buying a wind generator.

I know if I do, that will be the end of wind in my area forever.
