it is a good starting point to know what is NOT in that body of water> But for the species it shows DO exist, could be a small population or totally distinct from that body of water. We had for example zoomed in on a small lake what was supposed to have whitefish, walleye, laker, etc and after many holes and trying everything we caught a few rock bass.

A good resource but not as good as a fishing buddy

I know whatíll make a small water body not have fish in it, broadcast it all over the internet so thousands of people can try it too.
Iím not saying you shouldnít ask about certain places, but just blindly going online and talking about certain small lakes and creeks will almost guarantee youíll have lots of company when you do try them out later.
Thereís a reason why everybody talks about ďlake xĒ etc. on here, they can only handle so much pressure. If you think it might be worth a try on a new lake or river, just go for it. The last few years Iíve been trying new lakes as much as I can, sometimes they donít pan out much but other times you find a real gem. Worse thing thatíll happen is you see some nice scenery and not catch anything.

I've found there are lots of lakes that have certain types of fish in them, yet they are not listed online. The only way to know for sure is to fish them.

The fish species listed on FishOn is totally unreliable.

You'll learn someday. You would think it isn't necessary to explain the difference between a creek being included in an online app with thousands of lakes and rivers and posting details about it on an area specific forum but hey....this world is full of surprises.

Maybe instead of complaining about the mention of Silver Creek as an example, those who are so concerned should be mentioning to the MNR to get rid of Fish ON-Line altogether.

Guess what?
There's cisco in Spence Lake.
There's bass in Bass lake.
There's Pike in Morrison Lake
I could go on forever using this website. Doesn't mean the fishing is good though.

I love using Fish ON-Line. Great for planning weekend adventures.

Lighten up everyone.

Hey hammerincameron, Long Lake is about 3 miles long.

And your Yoda might make it to the trailhead if you it doesnt get hung up in the mall parking lot.

Sorry didn't mean to mislead you HardleyCore, I don't drive a Yoda, only asked if Silver creek was Toyota accessible to gauge fishing pressure.

The closest mall is 35 minutes away and you'll only catch me there on Christmas Eve, unless you count gas stations, Beer store, and Foodland as malls.
