Hey Folks,

If you are a Humminbird owner (Helix for me), and have been waiting for Johnson Outdoors to help us out in Ontario with some Lakemaster action... get excited, it’s nearly here!

To date I have been using Navionics, and as much as I like it, it is not as interactive with my Humminbird as the Lakemaster chips they have in the US.

Based on the below links, the retail is going to be in the $170 range, and they have about 500 lakes so far.

My big reason for wanting the Lakemaster is for the contour fiollow and highlight options. I just installed my Ulterra with iPilot Link, and when networked with my Birds I can pick a contour on the Lakemaster map, and she’s off to the races! I can’t imagine what an improvement this will be! Set my contour and flip on my main motor to the speed I want, and let the Ulterra do the steering along my selected depth! Or, set the Ulterra on the contour, set the speed to slow, and cast the desired depth without worrying about controlling the boat!

Absolutely thrilled!!! Figured some peeps here might want to know.

This should not make a difference for your situation. Humminbird does not typically include Lakemaster for navigation, or ZeroLine cards for Autochart live. They are sold separately... so... Mo money, mo money, mo money!

Also keep in mind, if you are already the owner of Navionics card, it will be fine to use in the Helix 5.

If you are interested in networking to a Minn Kota trolling motor with the Link feature, or adding additional Humminbird units to the network, you would have to bump up to the Helix 7 G2N versions at a minimum to do so.

That being said... to setup the network you would also require the Ethernet box and wiring from Humminbird... ya, even MO MONEY!

This electronics thing can get crazy expensive, but it’s just so amazing it’s hard to pass up! Not even mentioning the 360 imaging, multiple transducers, bow and transom set ups... whew!

Here is the lake listing... not much HD and is really just Navionics regurgitated, but works with Link.

Just heard back from Humminbird, and my contact at Advanced Marine.

Looks like Advanced will have them this week.
“Hey we got the lakemaster chips on order already. Ordered 4 of them and should hopefully see them this week”

Humminbird
“We have been shipping this to Canadian Stores and distributors so would have to be found online or locally. We do apologize for any inconvenience if this is a difficult item to find as we have been shipping them as quickly as possible.”

Can’t wait!
