Up here by Bancroft we had over 10" of snow yesterday. Now it is -5 C and freezing rain. Was going to clean the laneway but decided to wait it out. Wind is picking up out of the east. Still have power which is a pleasant surprise but the genny is full and ready. Stay safe out there.

Had to spend an extra night at the trailer on Weslemkoon last night. We made our way home today, crazy weather all the way home but the roads were not too bad.

Coming down Weslemkon Lake Road this afternoon, seen quite a few birch trees bent over like this one.

I coffed up the 1300 bux for a Generlink and paid an electrician to do it. This way I'm up to code and my insurance cant weezle out of anything.

We have it figured out, what we can and cant run, but for the most part, situation normal.

We had this done... be aware the cable from the generator to the switch is expensive.  The switch usually place close to your panel and generator in the garage.  The cable is about 2 inch thick depending on your generator.

My electrical panel is in the garage.

Not sure if this helps keeping the cable shorter ?

Then you are lucky. We city folks have our panel down the basement. Door to the basement is in the middle of the house and 14 steps down and the panel is like as far as it can be from the stairs. So like 100 foot cable does add up.

And for those who are thinking.... why not run it outside and drill it through like the AC..... not worth the hassle when you sell your house and have to fill a hole in the foundation.
