Another goof ball that can’t understand the ethics of limit fishing.

Not looking for this to be a flame thread or civil war at LSO, so please don’t take it down that road.

Just another ridiculous situation that should never happen!

Had to read it twice $3000 thought it was a typo. About time they got serious about breaking the rules.
Me thinks this wasn't a first offence situation.
In any case know the rules follow them or less......

Better this outcome then the “ tipping “ that took place when the locals took matters into their own hands,

Glad to see enforcement for sustainability.

Good to see the courts are hitting these criminals where it hurts...in the wallet. I just hope he's not "forgiven" part of the fine because of some technicality.

I'm glad this person got caught also. I just don't get why people still want to carry on these criminal acts when there is no actual need for it.

Hahaha... close to $100 a fish. I bet most of them were half pound. $200/lb. and fish seized! Sukka!

Fines are not arbitrary. they are set by the province. There is a set fine, and then the fine increases every fish over the limit. Something like $300 set fine and then $100 a fish or something. So if your 30 fish over the limit it can get upwards of $3000.

Its not just a random number though.

I know they are not arbitrary however usually the minimum set fine is imposed if that. $3000 she threw the book at him. Something I think a little more is needed.

Just read this and it angers me so much... There are more and more Chinese anglers on the waters nowadays (myself being one of them), and it really ruins our reputation when I see stuff like this. I just want to say that not all of us behave this way on the water, and I personally will see to this article being shared as a warning message on all the Chinese social media that I have access to. Ontario's fishery is a precious resource that all anglers must respect, and I just want to apologize for this guy's utter disregard for the rules/regulations.

Disgusting! MNR should take away his license and not allow him to fish ever again. He got caught this time who knows how many times he got away?
