I am certainly glad I pulled the ice gear out for another outing.

Got a surprise this morning. I must of set up the hut over a Bass honey hole , or near one.

Pulled up 8 large mouths ...lol

After a quick picture, they all went back down the hole.

I also hooked onto a big Bluegill and some big Sunfish, which I took home for a tasting. It's going to be the first time for me eating those pan fish.

After I packed up 4 rods, I kept one out for another 20 minutes.

bang ! got two 12 inch jumbo's followed by a 13 inch plus female, full of eggs. She went back down the hole right away..I kept the 12's

I was hoping to catch some Crappie and maybe a Pike, but beggar's can't be chooser's.
Happy enough to leave with a meal for tonight.

I took a picture of the mass congregation about 1000 yards away from where I set up.
Crappie's took a beating today...lots of full buckets leaving the ice.

The ice was 14 inches in my hut. With no double digit sunny days, it should last a bit longer.
Shoreline was certainly a little bit tricky.

The $1 lure I grabbed last week worked well. Chartreuse was the color today. They all smashed it.

Haha, great catches!

You must have been in the Simcoe twilight zone to catch all those oddballs!

hey sorry if i misunderstood but if you were using live goby for bait then reconsider you bait choice they are illegal to release back into the water dead or alive you can be fine A LOT, be careful out there tight lines!

Nice good call on getting the gear back out! Looks like they are fishing on top of each other over there lol

Most definitely. I wonder how many tangled their lines thinking they got a monster on.
They were that close together. A few huts in there, too.
