Today I went out to Virginia Beach around dawn with my dad to test out our new Eskimo Sierra Flip Over Hut.

When we got to our spot and drilled our first hole we measured the ice to be about 15". There were lots of small pressure cracks everywhere and as it warmed up you could hear the ice cracking right underneath you (eerie feeling being on the ice). Shore access was safe.

Within the first 10 minutes hooked into two jumbos but then the bite died down for a while so we decided to move.

Shortly after moving I hooked into a 12" Jumbo Male perch, followed by a dink fest for a while. Around lunch time a 33" Northern Pike creeped up on us and hit my lure. My PB pike. It was truly a great fight through the ice.

Going to have a great fish fry tonight.

Cheers!

There might be a couple of bonus jumbos inside that gator.
