Got this beautiful female Muskie within a mile or so of Riverview Cottages on the Upper French River.
In our haste to get her back in the water, we didn't take time to try and find the measuring tape or the scales. Based on rough measurements from the bottom of the boat, we conservative put her at 51-52". Weight, not sure, but she had a huge girth, so I'm expecting she weighted between 35-40 lbs.
What a beautiful fish!.
Since I wasn't fishing for Muskie, I didn't have the cradle with me. Me bad!.
She was revived with a couple of minute, swam away without any difficulty to thrill another angler.

Pic didn't attach. Will try separately

The crazy thing was I using my lighter rod with 8 lb line (since we were in deep water) and was skipping about a 1lb smallmouth bass toward the boat to release it. Suddenly the bass disappeared in a huge swirl.
Somehow hooked herself. Go figure?
This is the second time this has happened to me. The first time I never got to see what it was.

Well done Fossy47.
I'd rather see these hasty types of single photos then 3 or 4 of the same fish from different angles....with even more time taken to include the exact measurements.
We can definitely conclude from the photo the relative size of the fish for ourselves.
Quick snaps like yours indicate the angler is trying (as much as humanly possible) to minimize stress on the fish and time out of water.
It's obvious you were more concerned about the well being of a nice fish then obtaining a perfect photo.
And well done supporting the fishes weight the proper way in the photo....far to often we see photos of big Pike/Muskie held by their gill plates with the full weight of the fish unsupported.
Good job on your behalf for proper handling techniques....we can't always determine when these fish are going to show up.
