What an epic trip to SSIC! and it sure went from poor to insane fishing. Arrived late Sunday and got out to condo by 3.30 and fishing by 4...real slow bite. On Monday I was all pumped to smash them but hard as I fished, I saw very few and they were not comitting and wound up with 5 perch total.

Had a chat with Garnet and he was super busy getting 16 groups out that day, but on Tuesday we got the bungalow moved to a new location and insta fishing was on. non stop action for that day and again Wednesday.

There were on to big minnows on the set lines and smashing lures tipped with either a minnow head or perch eyeball. The big girl hit at 7.35 in the morning and I was super excited to finally get a good one and have it as a PB. then another 2 over the slot as well .............wow

Wife was doing great on perch and eyes as well.

Packed it in at 10 am Thursday and got that bass as icing on the cake

Can't say enough good things about Garnet and this operation as the 2 hour move/relocation was the key for sure .More on that some other time.

We wound up with 47 perch 9.8 to 12 inches 46 walleye 3 herring, 2 small pike and 1 SM bass in 2 days of fishing basically. One of the better trips in last few years but due to the PB of course

The lures shown in a photo all worked as did large minnows... you could work the fish into hitting and that they did.

22 inches of smooth ice made driving out and in easy and the only spot that may go again is when you first get onto ice as that was broken up and chewed from the prior melt

Anyhow, back home again and wishing I was still there. Booked for next year:D

Congrats on all those beauties, very nice. Heading up with SSIC in a week and a half, been using them for 15 years now, they are top notch. Garnet and his crew always seem to put you on the fish. Just 10 more sleeps. Oh and we can't forget to mention Cara Lee probably the hardest worker of them all and never gets a shout out.

Wow Shank ! You definitely delivered the goods. If my upcoming trip to nip is half as good I'll be ecstatic. Thanks again for the porn.

I think this is the first time I did not mention Cara Lee who for sure holds the operation together
