those are definitely monsters for their species. I'm wondering why they confirm them so fast or how that's possible. Normally it takes over a year of waiting before they confirm a record and some of those were just caught 2 months ago

...especially when the perch record was beaten by .01 lbs?

15.25in is the record? Damn, I need to start paying attention to my bigger perch on Nipissing. We landed four 15 inchers this winter. Nipissing is a perch factory...

I dont think it's the length as much as it is the weight. I believe there was a 17" perch caught on Simcoe last season but didn't weigh more than the old record.

With perch that big...maybe Bob will have to start fishing for them again.
Closest I came was just a hair under 15 inches and 2.24 pounds out of Simcoe just off Fox Island. They have been getting some monsters out of Lake Erie/ Port Burwell area this year that push 15 inches easily. They were late coming in but some of the catches have been just insane. Getting the boat set up in the morning.

Hard to believe the one about the carp. Here is mine from July of 2017. It weighed in at 42.7 pounds on our scale. Caught this beauty in Hamilton.

They go by weight, but that can be miss leading when fish are caught when full of eggs. Same fish caught in summer would weigh a lot less. I'm more impressed with length or summer weight.
