G'day Boys and Girls,

Hope everyone has been enjoying this amazing Spring weather.

Wanted to drop by and share an update on how the Pics have been so far this season.

Overall, very similar to last year. Location trajectory has followed the same trend (shallow first 2 weeks, starting to move deeper now), the only big difference has been how quickly the water warmed up (56 opening weekend, 73 as of yesterday).

Catching all year classes, which is a great sign for the fishery. I've been focusing on larger fish, throwing a lot more crank baits and big swim baits over jigs and harnesses. Still managed a few good feeds, but definitely quality over quantity so far, including a new PB - 28.5", probably about 7lbs. She definitely would have been pushing 9 in the fall...

Stay Golden y'all...

Here's the new PB - look at the size of that head!!

Thought for sure she was a muskie until she showed herself boatside...

Congrats on your new PB.

Well done sir...

Very nice walleye

Thanks for the report..

Yes huge head and smaller body.. I have caught similar in Kawarthas and Yup I feel like I was gipped .. LOL

Agreed would be pushing 8-9 lbs in the late fall all fattened up, but unfortunately late spring and summer walleye, loose body girth.. Actually yours still looks somewhat chunky in the post spawn period. I have caught big walleye in July and the bodies were really skinny..
