Well, Dbfish and Fishing Fan weren't the only ones on that remote back lake in Muskoka today! After an unplanned detour of about 10 minutes to the next exit north of where we really wanted to go, Knuguy and I finally got to our laker spot, walked a short distance out onto the lake, and set up on the ice. In no time at all, we were cozily ensconced in our pop-up with the heater going, watching the fish on the sonar. (Yes, it is true, Knuguy was actually fishing in a pop-up.) Without having to wait too long, Harold iced our first laker and then, over the next little while, we iced three more. Conditions were fantastic and there was plenty of entertainment on the screen - a very welcome change from some previous visits last season. All fish were caught on minnows either using a split shot type rig on a slip float or on a drop shot in 65'. Woohoo! I'm looking forward to the next laker hunt!

A slipfloat, a shelter, heater and sonar. We may make a fisherman out of Harold yet! Way to go boys. Had to leave fast to make my boys hockey so had no time to chat when we left. See you guys out there again. Iíll bring the tubes Harold. Minnows? So now Harold is the Master Baiter?

Hey, Harold was so impressed that he stopped off at Canadian Tire in Barrie at the end of the day to see if they had any! (And if he got them, I'm going to use them too.) Better watch out, Harold is starting to use all of your techniques and he's catching fish too!
