I also will be up there next weekend with Chilly Willyís! Canít wait. Hopefully the bite is hot and we can manage a fry! We always do well with perch and herring there but hopefully we can have a few walleye too! If anyone is up with Chilly Willyís, we have a group of six and we should be fishing outside the hut most of the weekend. Stop by and have a beer if you want! Donít think I will be driving my truck out so donít really know how to describe who we are...maybe we will be the group not catching any fish lol 😂

Alright gentlemen (and ladies), please keep your snickering and chuckles to yourselves. We were 4 newbies out on our first ice fishing adventure. We had a great time! However, I am embarrassed to admit (and man enough to admit)... we got skunked. Nada! Hence no updates and no fish porn. I am sure we will win the booby prize of the year for 2018. (I guess there is more to ice fishing that just showing up, downing a few whiskeys, and putting a minnow on your line.)

PS. Already looking forward to next year! I am hooked on ice fishing. Let the countdown begin! Next year we start from ground zero - we will have no expectations, anything we catch will be cause for celebration, i.e. another whiskey .

have almost been there and almost done that but I don't think I have ever seen or heard of a whole group getting the ol skunkaroo before. We will chalk it up to opening jitters

There will always be good years and there will always be bad years without a doubt, it is a big lake and all you get is one/two hole access to it, not great odds when you think about it. It is a game of waiting for the fish to come to you rather than you being able to get to the fish.

Try and book something earlier next year, sometime between Jan.1st to 14th would be great if you can find something open as a lot booked next year already when they were leaving this year. Maybe be prepared for next year to venture away from the bungalow as I read lots of reports of guys having more success when they got out of the bungalow and moved around.

Just the getting away and the good times spent with good friends will always make these weekends worth the trip......not even one lost at the hole

Got to admit though it takes a big man to come back and admit defeat

I'm guessing you boys still had a good time.
I used to go up with 30-36 guys. One year between all of us, 4 fish. I lost something small at the hole.. that's it. Still had a blast though.
