Ok guys here is your first item offered as a silent auction package at the M&G..

The bids will continue until the 24th, then the sheets will be presented with the items on the "SILENT AUCTION" table for further bids ...

Bids are in $5.00 increments and the auction will close at 1:10 pm that day winners will be announced and you must be there to pick up and pay for your item.

All items are donated by our generous sponsors, if you wish to donate please pm me ..

Thanks for your bids...

Dave

Hey Dave,
Usually silent action is where people place a bid without others seeing the bid. Like in a in closed box or via message to one receiver. Otherwise the guy standing around the table at 1:00pm putting in the last bid will win if he choices to bid that item. With the in closed box. No one knows what the highest bid is and will bid what they are willing to pay for that item.

Great point, not sure if that is how they've done it previously, but you're right the guy standing around looking at the sheet would be able to bid at 1:09PM and win the item assuming he's seeing the other bids on that sheet.

No he's got it right.
Auctions either silent or live action are designed to induce the competitive nature of guys to get a higher price.
Further to win you got to be present to pick up and win so at 1:08 bid as high as you will go and not $5 more.

Silent auction should be silent. I believe everyone should bid secretly there fore no one knows the current top bid. If everyone knows the current bid that would be considered a regular auction. Just my opinion and am not trying to knock anyone at all.

Hey Guys... This we have found over the past 10 yrs to be the most effective way to raise funds.. past trials were with Chinese, Russian, widow and black box ..They all failed to create the sense of competition as our present format ... It "WORKS" Our many satisfied charities can't be wrong ..

NOW GET YOUR BIDS IN ..
