Was out at Bear point with a hut operator all weekend with four guys in a overnight hut, out of the whole weekend we didn't so much as see a flick of the stick. We would mark the occasional fish on the graph but nothing would do anything, no reaction no follow to baits and man was it frustrating. Marked some high marks presumably lakers, but do you think they would do anything? NOPE! they would swim with the bait for couple seconds and then swim off screen...
Regardless the guys i was with made it a great time as it is always fun to get together with family. There was 6 Sleeper huts in the area, not one of the occupants hit a fish or had a hit... sure was a head scratcher. The most excitement came from when one of our guys tangled up everyone's tip ups lol, or when i reeled up a rod holder from down 100FOW.

I am wondering if anyone else had similar problems hitting fish this past weekend?

Sorry to here that. But a weekend of Fishing is better than staying at home. Might have also been all the storms that came through over the weekend. Good luck next time. Tight lines.

You are correct in saying that! My family is from the states, knew the operators reputation knew the current trend of fishing catching and we were told it was fire lol (I know its his livelihood). Just would have been nice to hit some fish when spending the money we did. Oh well it was still fun, and we will get them next time!

Guys, I was at JP, fished Fri-Sunday, marked well over 100 fish in the three days, had the camera down, so black could not see much, did not even get a sniff, not one hit, they would come up to the top hook , look, and swim away....had to be the storms, as I caught fish last weekend.

ok add me to that list, lost 1 at BBP and that was it for the entire day, barely marked any tried from 25fow to 105fow and barley marked anything on Saturday, probably drilled 50 holes so it was no lack of trying

If everyone was to go out and catch a fish every time... there will be no fish left. The ratio of skunk is 50 x higher then success. That is why those early days of the season when the lake isn't fished hard and the walk is easy.... you take the advantage to get out there as much as you can. Right now the walk is hard and the general stomping grounds are tough to fish.

on Simcoe for every 5 people who catch fish and post pictures, there are 4995 who get skunked
