Nice.
I drive by your place all winter in my travels. Usually travel on the west side of Fraser in the summer.
I inherited my place from my grandparents, also in the
family for many years, since the 1920ís. Itís on Giesler Island, about a kilometre northwest of you.
Iíll stop by and say hi someday.

Thats great, i know exactly where you're at. Great spot. Im sure our families have crossed paths many times before. And stop by anytime, beer is always cold. Longest time im up there this year is last 2 weeks of August. I share the cottage with my cousin so we split time pretty evenly. If you drop by my name is Kale!

Time there than at home. Ha!

How low does the water look where its open? Brocks Channel might be to low to get through. Not a big deal just means i have to go around Fraser island so need hunters bay open. where did you snap that picture? from your island?

I don't think that the lake level will be a problem, it is no longer low. In fact it's almost at the midpoint of the summer navigation level which is 195.85 metres above sea level.
I just checked the level online and at the west end of the lake it's at 195.67 and climbing by about 7-8 centimeters per day, so unless they open up the dams we should hit the summer level within a couple of days.

Yes, you should be just fine for Saturday.
Water is rising fairly quickly and will be up a few more inches by then.
A friend was over to his place on Schnaufer Island through Brocks on the weekend but had to break ice to get there and raise his motor to get over the bottom. You would not have made it to yours.
I took that picture just north of Nipissing lodge facing north.
Didnt get to my place, I can see it in the distance.

No issues at all getting to the cottage. Lake is looking beautiful, water was higher then i thought so not an issue at all. After a couple long days of work i at least got to enjoy a beautiful sunset!! Thanks again for you info leading up to cottage opening. Stop by for a beer anytime!

Cheers to a great summer in paradise!-
