Hello Folks:
Just got a trailer at Victoria Lodge on the far end of the West Arm. Was up for my first weekend of fishing. 39 casts in I got a small barred muskie (about 20 inches, did not bother to measure it as I wanted to release it quickly). I thought it was going to be easy after that. But it was a hard weekend of fishing. There was a pike derby, so the water was pretty crowded, with one boat going into a bay after one left. Got about 8 small pike, a 14 inch walleye that was far from legal, a surprisingly big perch and the muskie in two evenings and two mornings of fishing. Tried spinners, Rapalas, and got the walleye on a plain old worm. Anyway, I love the country and hopefully I learn the water better and find some quality spots. Mainly giving an update and saying hello. Oh, we also got checked by the C.O., but he was a decent guy and once he was sure we were legit, he hung around and chatted a bit.
