Even though it was a scorcher today, the clouds stayed around our place most of the day so it wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been. When it’s this hot, I like to get real shallow for the bigger ones, so we decided to stay close to home and hit one of our favourite smaller local lakes.
Caught quite a few, both smallies and largies in water from 6”-2’ deep, on either topwater frogs or pitching a Texas rigged creature bait.
Nothing beats seeing a big bass of either colour smashing a frog in ultra shallow water in the thick stuff.
