Well tomorrow I am putting my self on the line... Bringing my wife out for a day if ice fishing. I took her last year and we didn't see a see a fish all day lol so this year I am taking her to some spots I've historically done well at. I've talked a big game, now let's hope I can keep my man card!!

Just for the record she actually grew up fishing, and would outfish me 10/1! She's who inspired me to fish, a decision she may now regret since that's all I talk about anymore lol She's been holding down the fort with our two young kids while I've been honing my skills as an angler these past few years.

Headed to cooks bay, hoping the water isn't too murky and we get a good day on the ice.

Report to follow!!

I took my wife out on Saturday and although we caught over 40 dinks she had a great time and actually caught a few larger ones but we decided to put them all back. It was a great day together considering this was only her second time fishing with me in 30 plus years lol...

Hopefully you do well or at the next MAN meeting we'll be voting to revoke your card. No pressure though.

I am heading out tomorrow also. Not taking my wife until Saturday so I can hopefully get the advantage on her because she usually outfishes me as well.

Good luck Dave, hopefully you will get into some. Our first day at Nipissing last month the weather was mild and it was raining like they are calling for tomorrow and the fish were on fire that day.

Well... we didn't get the keepers we were looking for, but it was a good day on the ice. Headed out nice and early and went to my top spot, which convienently was located to a travel route of one of the operators. Decided to find a new home rather than having company all day, and started off in about 19fow. Water was still brown and murky. Measured at least 20" of ice, which made for some real fun with dull auger blades. Between that and hiking the clam across the snow I won't need to worry about heading to a gym anytime soon

Started marking fish right away, and in no time my wife had her very first fish through the ice, a dinner no less. She had 4 up before I got my first bite. Caught about 20 fish, none more than 6-7" and decided to move. Headed to my #2 spot and got set up, and started marking fish right away once again. Hooked up into the first keeper of the day and thought things were about to get better. After snother dozen tiny ones, (my Personal Smallest Perch Ever!) My wife caught her first jumbo perch ever! Pure joy and excitement, exactly what we came for. Nice 11.75" female. I caught one more keeper and then the bite just died off around 1pm.

Decided to call it a day and head home to pick up the kids

All in all it was a fun day out with the wife, alone without the kids fornthe first time in a year, doing something we both love so it doesn't get much better than that

That's what it's all about

Cheers
