Yesterday morning I called in this 19lb tom with Kim's Gobblestalker pot call....9.5" beard and 1/2" spurs......in the bush at 5:30am...first gobble from this guy at 6:15 and last gobble was at 6:45am when my 870 pump gun threw a load of 20 gauge 3" Hevi Shot #6's! Assembled our new bbq yesterday afternoon and guess what we had for dinner....bbq'd wild turkey!

Very nice. I was hoping to get out in the spring but I may have to wait for the fall. Busy as all hell right now. I even picked up a crossbow for the longer fall season. I also need to find another few places to hunt. Not a lot of birds on the public land I have been scouting. These reports keep my hopes up. Thanks.

Dave

First the bird goes 'gobble, gobble', then the birder goes. 'Gobble, gobble'. I'm not a hunter but I understand they spook quite easily so I can see the sport in that!! Well done!

Awesome day of hunting! I've been out three times so far and only had a hen hang out in front of me for 10 minutes

I may honestly go insane soon about turkeys, the gobble haunts my dreams but if I had better aim I would have had one last weekend hoping he comes back this afternoon

That's a beautiful bird. Congrat's. Thanks for posting. Unfortunately I don't think I will get a chance to go turkey hunting this year. I will just have to settle to reading posts on this forum from my fellow members.
