Decided to give lady simcoe a break and venture a little further up north with the old man this weekend and help him ice his first laker.

Was looking to get on Parry sound harbor or the main body if conditions are right. Any one have any ideas on ice conditions? Doe the harbor hold any Lakers any thing helps.

Thanks!

Not usually too much for lakers in the harbour but there were huts our past three mile on the Big Sound
last weekend. Not sure how much ice there is though so youíll want to check your way out, especially if you go out very far. Donít forget, thereís quite a few more rules for laker fishing in the Sound then on Simcoe.

Thanks Seguin,

Spuds always with us lol want to get home safe and dry. I was reading up on a few of the regs for the sound. In terms of the lakers we practice catch and release ( unless its walleye or perch ).

One of the number one rules out there is only 1 line through the ice. Usually I just jig for them out there, with only one line itís often better to run around the lake and punch lots of holes jigging and keep moving till you find a few. Good luck.
