Hey all,

Me and the girlfriend are going away and have a spare day we are staying in huntsville and are looking for a day hut somewhere that wont break the bank. Not looking to go to Simcoe as thats our home area lake . Thinking of nipissing but any and all suggestions are welcome.

Cheers tight lines

We stayed in a cabin at the waltonian inn. They took us out on the ice in the am and brought us back out at dusk. I would give them a try. You could probabaly just go out on the ice and not rent a cabin. Caught a lot of perch and some walleye

Hi j.thomson

The 'Ice Hut Rentals' block in the ad banner at the top of the Nipissing Outdoors page lists many ice hut operators including location and contact information etc. Several operators still do day huts.
Good luck.

He's probably looking to get first hand info from people that have experience with particular ops. The adds are a start, but nothing beats first hand info imo. Reeds right in North Bay is a good operator for day huts, they focus on perch, but anythings possible on The Nipissing.

Yea ive seen the ice hut rental tabs unfortunetly ive contacted a couple and looked at sites of them and not all those actually offer the ice hut day rentals. left a message with bear creek waiting to hear back. I am hoping to target some walleye as perch as easy pickings on simcoe for us.. so after something different

Also yes looking for some person insight

Thanks everyone !

Bear Creek is the only one I know of with Day Huts.

They will put you on fish as they run a great operation.

I did a day hut with Chalkleys Sandy Bay Ice Huts last season. It was a slow day of fishing right after a blizzard, but top notch service provided. I would definitely recommend giving them a call.

I'm not 100 % sure but I think Rob Hyatt has some day huts. You might want to give him a call to see.
