Hauled a hut out to the fishing grounds yesterday. Found ice thickness from 12" to 15" but only drilled a few holes. I have heard though there are some thinner areas. We are planning on putting in our flagline today which will tell us more. Be safe everyone.

Wikipedia tells me Lake Nip is 65km long and 25 km wide. therefore you could go out 3 km virtually from any starting point, although you'll likely run into an island or two. hope this helps lol

I’ll second the OP.
We flagged yesterday, found upwards of 18” in spots but also found 8” under drifts. The ice was decent in the are we checked, however there were some pretty noticeable variances in a short distance.
I see auger extensions in our future this year hahahah
