If you live in a rural area you should invest in some guinea hen or guinea fowl. There main diet if left free range is ticks. My friend purchased a dozen of the guinea hens 3 years back and has yet to find any more ticks on his dogs to date. He as well as I still use advantix on our dogs which helps tremendously. But he was still finding ticks on the dogs now and then. After buying the guineas not one more tick

Hey; those birds also make great alarms with their schreech
and are great in the pot ..poor man's pheasant..
