I fish musky a lot in summer/fall....caught this little guy....safely released but a real nice healthy fish....musky population is booming probably due to the great walleye and cisco numbers....
Never know what you might pull up your hole on Nip....why she is so GREAT!

Nice looking fish! You're fortunate to have a great fishery up there and good ice still. Hopefully one day i'll make the drive up and fish Nipissing for the very first time

I bought a trailer on the West Arm this year. My buddies from down here told me that the fishing was crap, I should have stayed down here and bought one on Erie etc. We made a bet that I would/wouldn't catch a game fish within 50 casts. Cast 29 was my second muskie ever, just a 22-24 incher that I did not measure as I wanted to get him back in. The crazy thing was that he had an enormous bite mark on his back and belly about 1/3 up that looked like something had had him partially in their mouth. So I agree, you truly never know what Lady Nip will share with you. Nice looking fish, rare thru the ice as far as I know. Congrats.

There is something you don't see everyday but as said that is the beauty of fishing Nipissing, never know what is coming up through that hole.

Nice catch and release Cranman

Hope you were gentle with him/her. So I can add it to one of my summer milk runs in about 15 years.
Always great to see and hear about good numbers of smaller juvenile fish in the system. Muskie fishing on Nip is only getting better and better every season....despite increasing fishing pressure over the last 30 years.
Nice picture, good example of the colour pattern on a younger fish....looks to be very healthy.
Thanks for posting. Did you pick up a set of ice cleats yet? Lol
