Hey all...been a while....glad to see everyone is out "in a boat"....lol.
Just wanted to drop by and give a quick update for anyone interested.
The shads are finally done and from what I can tell the walleye have moved deeper. My magic number is about 30 feet. I have been doing extremely well in those depths, and using a jig and worm. Trolling seems to be a tad slow for me (I usually catch the larger fish trolling, but not this year). I have also noticed I am catching larger fish this year straight down still fishing....not many keepers yet, but all very close.
I will not give specific locations, but as some of you know, I fish the north and east sides of lake nipissing all the way into the bay. It doesn't take you long to find a spot that produces fish. I usually start by looking for a patch of weeds or a sand hump or flat near deep water, then keep an eye on the fish finder. As soon as you mark a few fish. Stop and drop a line...wait for a bit.
Good luck all. Going for muskies next week down south. Hopefully can post some "muskie porn" for all of you!
Tight lines to all, and have a great safe summer out there!
