Well, just over a week to our annual family vacation to the mighty Nippissing. I really mean fishing trip!! Lol. Any fishing reports from the east side of the lake? Walleye? Pike? bass? Just curious how conditions have been as my gps will take to the usual spots regardless.

Thx Gump

From what I have seen and heard, conditions are good. A few more keepers being caught this year. I have had lots of luck in 30ft of water, off of steep drops, rocky points, the usual walleye digs. I have heard the east side of the lake is doing way better than the middle...???

Not sure about pike and bass as I have been targeting those on other lakes up north. I caught a few bass in the bay by accident fishing for shallow walleye. The usual spots in the bay will likely produce for ya.

Cheers, be safe, and have fun. I am sure you will be on fish if you know the lake at all.

Much appreciated. We usually fish shoals off deep water with succes for walleye(always), pike along south shore and the manitou island, bass in between them all, and if course the smith island when winds don't cooperate!!

We'd like to adventure across to the goose island if Mother Nature plays nice any advise around there?

To be honest with you....I have not had much luck right at Goose...I have trolled from there southerly towards south shore and had a bit of success. Heck if you troll from there you might even get into a musky or something larger if you use a deep diver or reef runner...lol.

Be safe if you do go out that far. I have seen nasty weather come up fast in that area and if your trip back involves a long ride in an east-west direction, you are fighting parallel waves the entire trip (makes for a goofy ride home).

Be sure to try the north channel into the bay.....you will find a huge "bowl" at the east end of that channel...very interesting to see on the depth finder. You didn't mention the north side of the bay...its always a blast to fish...many different species in there...nothing to big from what I have seen...but fun regardless...you can usually see them in the shallows cruising around if your boat will allow you to venture into the shallow bays and creeks back there.

Cheers,

SKRAMO....}-)))0>........

Only 20 more sleeps till my annual trip to Memquisit Lodge on The West Arm. Looking at all these toothy critters is giving me ants in the pants.
