The winter forecast for the lake is initially looking very favourable for all recreational activities (including the hard water variety).
Let the count downs begin.

Sure hope they're right. They predicted a hot relatively dry summer.

Now that my deer season is done, I am looking forward to some ice fishing and hoping for some very cold ice forming weather for Lake Nipissing.

I'm getting antsy! I just hope we don't keep getting dumps of snow so the ice has a chance to form without being insulated.

You all wory too much. Never seen a year yet when we didn't get ice or get out go out and fish.

There has been a couple of tougher years, but we still go

Ya, you bet.

we got blown off one year.literally believe it was just after 7 am or so along with dozens of other bungalows. Was quite an adventure

Another time we had to exit early due to water/slush just to be safe.

In the end like you we still go.

btw, i do appreciate the ice updates though Grumpa. jus gets the blood flowing

you told me the story of the big wind storm and getting blown down the ice.......the one group you saw paniced and jumped out and were left standing out in the middle of Nipissing in their gitch watching their bungalow going down the lake

Good times

Yes I recall the winter we all got taken off the ice because of high winds and rouge huts blowing around.....we had our hut at Chilly Willies hit by another hut which was soaring down the lake.......what a day that was for sure .....quietest ride home I have ever experienced after a couple of days on the ice.
