Take the ride out! Pack well and there's no need to drive in and out. Fish, fish and fish some more!

Thanks for the review! Any thoughts on ice levels on Nipissing first or second week of January? I definitely want to give Angler's Haven a try!

You will be lucky to find a place on Nipissing the first 2 weeks of January if the ice conditions are good, a lot of us booked last year when we left for this upcoming year. If you are unable to find a place keep an eye on this board for cancellations as this might be your best chance at getting out onto early ice.

Good luck

8th sounds good for me I hope

As far as the question went. I have gone up on first ice and aslo mid February.....there are always fish to be caught. numbers and sizes depend on multible factors.

weather, location, fishing pressure, equipment, and presentation.

we go with the mindset of just getting out there and having a good time . whcih we do. then the fish are the icing on the cake

It's hard to pinpoint an exact date for first ice. It's a big lake and the lake could be ice covered in one spot and still have open water in another.
For what it is worth, last year I could no longer see open water from my vantage point on Dec. 13.

super bungalows are the great. satellite TV., heating is thermostat controlled, lots of space and no propane lighting giving off fumes. Denis and the troops will look after you. will not go back to a regular hut after using these.

Us also, can't go back to a regular propane hut and we have a small generator that we could take up with us for the red hut of Denis. Seeing that he has now wired them for that purpose. We have been going up with Ice Bungalows for 18 years now. Denis showed us the 1st super Blue in 2006/7 and we have booked one every year since. We are booked in for Feb 2 so anyone up there look for the fire on the ice and come say Hi. Just to comfortable no to pay the extra price. Just ask Tom! He slept most of the weekend with some brown bottle help. >))))> >))))> >))))>
