Less than one week until Pike and Walleye open up on GBay. Whos pumped? I know i am. Im just worried about the water temp being so cold. The water temp was still in the 30's the other day when i checked. How do you guys think this will effect the fishing next week?

Pike should be easy targets, the Walleye however may play hard to get!

drove over to picnic island today....lots of open water to launch, some bays still some very dark ice kicking around. We will still be out there on the first chasing the pike and looking for any crappie that may be in their midst too...
definitely pumped for it with the weather forecast as well.

Can't speak for Hogs Bay but this pic was taken a week ago just south of Tug Channel.

I’m so excited. This will be my first opening day fishing for pike in 8 years. Good luck to everyone. Watch out for dead heads.

Launched in hogs bay last Saturday. It's good to go I also moved all the 2x4s with nails in them from the launch, that was a close call missed by inches. Took tomorrow off work for the opener. Gonna be a beauty day for rippin lip

Same with me boys. No signs of life anywhere. Fished hard for 8 hours. Couldn't find them anywhere. Water is too cold is my excuse. Lol. Tried shallow and deeper. Also slowed down my presentation. The next week or so should get things going i hope. Beautiful day to be out there regardless.
