try fishing near a weedbed and see what happens. What part of the lake is your cottage on?

I don't know Stony ( a pipe dream only ) but if you have a cottage on Young's Bay with easy ice access then you should be only 200 ft from good perch, bluegill and crappie fishing. Looks like you're about a mile or so from Lake Trout , whitefish and ling grounds. You are a lucky guy !! Post some pics if you get out.

As far as I know Stoney is cloased for ice fishing . I may be incorrect but I believe I heard that . Check the regulations

Okay folks. Did some research.

Rickrose , your cottage is apparently on Stony Lake , not Stoney Lake.

Stoney Lake in Paxton Township up by Parry Sound , Nipissing area is a brook trout lake and is a fish sanctuary Jan 1 till April blah, blah, blah.

So , when are we all going crappie , perch and ling fishing . Apparently no trout and whitefish are closed until April ( boooooooooooooooooo !!! ) I know a guy with lake access
!!!

We will wait for the invite .

The spelling of Stony or Stoney Lake is subjective, and the starting point for many arguments of cottagers and locals alike. Lol. It's about 50-50 with what people believe to be the correct spelling, and it is spelt differently on many maps, township documents, branded clothing, etc. Both spellings are considered correct.
