I'm looking at purchasing the above unit this spring in time for the 2018 season. Is there anyone out there using this unit and/or know of someone who is and, if so what are you (they) saying about its performance?

Thanks

An outstanding unit.

Got mine on sale last year at Sail ($600!) and I absolutely love it. The Down Imaging is spectacular.

Sorry, just realized that I made a boo-boo.

I have the DI, not the SI.

Important point, I know, but still an awesome unit...

I just picked up the same SI version on Boxing Day from Sail. Looking forward to trying it out... sold my old boat and the Lowrance HDS Gen III unit with it. Wanted to give Humminbird a try.

Everything I've seen price wise is anywhere between $799 - to $849 usa. The DI comes in at $499. I posted because when looking at bass pro under reviews there were a few negative reports.

I'm hoping to get a deal via sail or bass pro in the early spring at sale time.

Thanks so much for the feed back

Bought the ice one 2.5 weeks ago and just starting to figure it out. So far its been "fantastic" for hard water. Bought the chips for the charts but havent used the GPS yet.
So far i love the unit without any issues.

Bought my Helix 7 from Joss at Angling Outfitters. I got the Helix 7 CHIRP GPS DI G2N w/ Navionics +.

He changed all the settings, and modes for me in store, came home completely set up. He said it would read a 1/32 ounce jig in 100 ft (time will tell). I've been online scouting lakes, looks to have a bunch of lakes, getting excited!

Sorry I just bought the ice kit from there. The actual unit I got at Sail Boxing day sale, $610 plus tax. The ice kit (bag, ducer, charger and battery $350)

I've researched them all and humminbird will be my choice when I do buy on this spring. 7 inch is the perfect size but unfortunately I have to buy the 9 inch (which has a way over sized case for the screen) as I need the slot for the second SD card.

keep us posted on the sales, one of the best sales I came across last year was bass pro - you buy the unit, they install it free you then get reward points and other credits that you have to figure out. It all came out to roughly $100 bucks off plus figuring the free installation - I found it beat the sail promotion with the free install - but you have to figure it out.
