Anyone having any luck finding ruffed grouse? Haven't had a chance to get out yet this season, but last year and year before, NOTHING. Not a drum, a flush, NOTHING.

If last year and the year before you found nothing be prepared to find even less this year. Last couple of years had been great but this year very few and extra jumpy. Looks like the extended wet season put a damper on recruitment and numbers are way down.

My Buddy and I shot 5 this year during a 3 day hunt. We usually shoot about 15 during a 3 day hunt. Nonetheless, we had a fabulous time. Did some fishing as well.

I know one thing for sure, they're skittish as hell this year, see the little tuft on their head go up, poof gone.
