Heading to Beaverland tomorrow haven't heard much about how the fishing has been up there this year but we've always done pretty well when we've gone there. Anyone have an idea how the fishing has been in Marten River this year?

Beaverland will be set up in a good location.. Weather permitting and if huts are slow drill some holes in the vicinity... Get out and find them...
Cheers FM.

Haven't heard much but if you do t try you do t know. If not catching in huts move around until you start marking fish. Always works. Tight lines.

marked a lot of fish landed 6 nice walleye lost a few, everything caught on a jig, gold, green and purple. Huts were set up in 13 FOW just along the weed line in Little Marten by the bridge. Had a lot of fish come up and have a look at the bait but only a few takers. Drilled holes in shallow 4 to 6 FOW with no results, did the same in 25 to 30 feet. Weather was perfect for the 2 days we were there, sunny and -10 with no wind at all.

The huts are nice at beaverland. Mike has a couple of good size 6 -8 man huts with propane furnaces and a few small satillite huts 2-4 man huts with wood stoves. If your looking to be mobile it's not a bad idea to bring your portable.

Thanks for the report. Pretty much sums up our trip up there 2 years ago. Marten used to be awesome walleye fishing grounds. The netting on Marten and Wicksteed have definitely taken their toll on the lake system up there. It's a shame, used to be a gold mine winter, spring and summer. Mike and Lori are great operators and do their best to make your stay enjoyable.

Never tried ice fishing Brice or McPhee; perhaps they hold up in those two lakes over the winter. Worth a shot if you've got a sled or quad up at Beaverland. Also panfish would be worth a go as well I'm thinking.

Thanks again for the report.
