That's a big walleye anywhere. I'll still argue that catching 80 walleye in an evening doesn't = a stressed fishery but the scientists know best.
I assume you sit on a spot and jig for those kinda numbers? I like to troll just because my patience sucks lol.

Wow.....beauty fish Cranman!

All my experiences out there lately indicate that there is a very large population of walleye in the 15 to 17" range. I have also had those times when I sit and jig and boat several fish. Nothing like 80, but I have done 40 in a couple hours (8 to 17 ft of water...usually around weeds). If these fish could make it a few more years, it would do the lake wonders.

Something for all of you to try!......If you time it right... be out on the lake when the shads are just emerging from the bottom (July 1st to about a week or so after...maybe a bit later this year due to weather). I usually sit out somewhere just a few hundered yards from the manitou islands. When the shads pop up on the surface, it's a feeding frenzy for the walleye. It almost looks like it's raining out all around your boat! No joke! I would imagine there were a thousand plus fish in the school I was on top of when I expereinced this last year...quite a site to see if you catch it and your timing is right.

If I do catch that again this year, I will video it and throw it up here for all of you.

Again, what a beauty walleye Cranman...well done!

Cheers all,

SKRAMO....... }-)))0>.........

I am always moving...never vertical jigging as I find it boring....probably hit 10-15 spots in an evening...
