Just curious if anyone does some perch fishing near Goderich in the spring. Any information on timing as well as depth, bait etc. would be great. Thanks

Has anybody been out off the salt mines yet?
I'm itching to get out but I am an hour and a half away.
ANY update on action, mudlines or anything else around Goderich is appreciated.

still some ice kicking around this area.

not much left at all, but overnights still dipping to -10 or worse... next week looks like we should see the ice go, but over night temps will keep the water really cold.
hope this helps...

Also look at www.goderichport.ca web cam. That should really give you and idea of what's going on out there as far as boats

Anyone been by Goodrich to check the ice or lack of it. Can't seem to get the webcam to display. Any info greatly appreciated.

most of the ice is gone, the odd piece still floating around but not much..
next weeks weather looks terrible again, so might see some more slush accumulate due to the overnight temps..

haven't seen anyone launch a boat yet, that I've witnessed anyway.

Try calling Goderich Bait and Tackle, he had some a week ago. Let us know how you did if you make it out. Thinking of going next weekend.

Made it out yesterday and what a great time! lots of boats but everyone seemed to be catching. The water was like glass and lots of people in t-shirts taking in some rays. Hopefully get out again soon

Does anyone know if perch are still around Goderich or parts north in the summer. A couple of summers ago I got into them in Southampton, of all places, and they were just off the pier. I had never seen that in 40 years. A great surprise.

Thanks

Was there last weekend. No perch but as many catfish , sheep heads and small mouth bass as you can handle.
